About OpenSourceCommunity
Who are we?
Launched by a partnership of 5 grassroots organisations
trying to make a difference in a deprived area of Hull.
We want to share practice in a practical way.
So why?
Because we've learned the hard way,
we've reinvented the wheel (a few times)
and we've often asked
… HOW do you do that? EXAMPLES please!
Opensourcecommunity started from a faith-based partnership called Community House based at the Community Church in Hull.
Ed Miliband MP (opening the new Community Church Centre in Hull)
The original 5 members who have donated resources are:
-
The Community Church
- working with a wide cross-section of the community from a new multi-purpose centre
-
Rhema Youth Works
- working with excluded young people
-
Crisis Pregnancy Centre
- supporting those suffering unwanted pregnancy
-
Eternal Benefits Furniture
- a social enterprise recycling furniture and domestic appliances for people on low incomes
-
Hull Lighthouse Project
- working with women in prostitution
We hope you find these resources useful and effective. We want to outwork our beliefs in a practical way by being open, inclusive and free. We hope that you find what you're looking for … and if you have appreciated the resources available on this site, please join us and upload your own!
We'd love to hear from you if you have any thoughts, views or comments on opensourcecommunity.
